Achievement Of OYSSC

  • Oyo State won the C.B.N Junior Tennis Championship of the Under-12 Male and Female Category by Mubarak Ganiyu and Imole Afolabi, Mubarak however won the most valuable player of the Championship - 2018.
  • Oyo State Chess Team, the likes of Bunmi Olape, Femi Balogun, Akinseyeb Abiola and Osunfunmi Abimbola are ranked as one of the top five in Nigeria Chess - 2018.
  • Oyo State Para-Athletics Team won 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals among the 36 States, the highest in the FAZZA International Para-Athletics Championship held in Lagos in May, 2018.
  • Usman Okanlawon won the Aso Rock Table-Tennis Championship held in Abuja between 3rd to 9th May, 2018 in the Under-13 Category and was awarded a scholarship to the University level.
  • Ten (10) Athletes and Two (2) Coaches from Oyo State were invited to the National Camp for 2018 African Youth Championship held in Algeria between 18th – 28th July, 2018.
  • Two (2) Under-14 Table-Tennis players and One (1) Coach are representing Nigeria in the ITTF world Junior Circuit and Africa Table-Tennis Cadet and Junior Championship (25th March, - 15th April, 2019 and 14th – 21st April, 2019). The players are Okanlawon Usman Ishola (Male) and Akeem Sadiat Alima (Female). The Coach is Aderibigbe Idiat Adekemi (Female). The trio are constant stars in Junior Table-Tennis in Nigeria and West Africa.
  • Oyo State assumed 8th Position on the Medal Table at the 2018 National Youth Games held in Ilorin, Kwara State.
  • Oyo State was 9th at the 19th National Sports Festival held in Abuja, F.C.T (7th - 16th December, 2018.
  • Award of contract of the repair and complete renovation of Lekan Salami Stadium Artificial Turf and Installation of the Tartan Track.
  • Oriyomi Hamzat was among the National team that played against Morocco in October, 2017.
  • Yakubu Adesokan (World Record Holder) and Ibrahim Dauda of Oyo State qualified for 2020 Olympic slated for Japan in a qualifier held in Algeria in August, 2018 by winning 1 Gold and Silver in their category.
  • Runsewe Sulaiman and Olaleye Elijah from Oyo State Cricket Team made the National Team that represented Nigeria in International Cricket Council Division 2 Under-19 World Cup Qualifiers in South Africa in 2018, Nigeria came 1st thus, qualified the Country to play in Division 1 in 2019.
  • National Table-Tennis Federation extends invitation to Oyo State Ajala Funmilola Adeyinka in preparation for African Senior Table-Tennis Championship.
  • Cycling Federation of Nigeria invites Adegoke Durogbade of Oyo State to the National Camp in preparation for Giro Delle Marche in Rosa (Italy).
  • Oyo State came 8th position on the Medal Table at the 2018 National Youth Games held in Ilorin, Kwara State.
  • Four Chess players from Oyo State, Olape Bunmi, Femi Balogun, Daniel Anwuli and Deborah Mobadewa represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Georgian, 2018.
  • Construction of a practicing Golf Range at Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, first of its kind in any Stadia in the Country.
  • Over Fifteen (15) Oyo State Athletes were awarded full scholarship by Kings International College Moniya, Ibadan for the past three (3) years because of their outstanding performance in Sports at the Secondary School level and Age Grade Competition.
  • ImoleAfolabi from Oyo State make a six person National at team that represented Nigeria at 2019 ITF West and Central Africa Under-12.
